Financial Manager

  • Financial managers see to a company's financial responsibilities. If you are in charge of a group of people who prepare tax documents, your job is to keep your staff on point for filing dates and existing investments. A financial manager is also referred to as a credit manager, treasurer, international bank manager and controller. Potential employers consider related work experience a desirable qualification for this position.

Advisors

  • Personal advisors give advice to clients on how to achieve long- and short-term finance goals. Pursue this field if you are comfortable with the idea of self-employment. Part of this job requires you to gain your own customers through networking. Financial analysts give advice to a business about investment opportunities. Analysts watch the stock market to see how bonds, stocks and commodities are serving their clients and advise accordingly on changes or if the company should stay on the same track with their investments. Financial analysts work for insurance companies, banks and pension funds, among others. Institutional investors who make large amounts of money employ buy-side analysts who, in turn, drum up ways to earn the company more money through investments. Sell-side employees work for banks to sell their investments.

Accountants

  • Accountants work for a company, small firm or as a self-employed entity. In this line of work you prepare financial documents, offer budgeting information tips and map out financial investments. Part of your job may entail keeping track of company financial statements and filing those documents during tax season. Terms parried around in the accounting field include "internal audit," "public accounting" and "management accounting," according to the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics.

  • Accountants average a salary of $61,690 per year, according to the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. Financial managers earn between $72,030 and $135,070 yearly. You can work for the local government and bring home $78,650 while a broker manager can rake in $134,940. Personal financial advisers take home $69,050 each year. Analysts take home $73,150 annually.
